West Maui, Hawaii: We are taking lessons learned from Wahikuli watershed and embarking on a partnership with Kipuka Olowalu to build local capacity and help rehabilitate the Olowalu ahupua’a (watershed).
Molokai, Hawaii: We are launching a project that will build the capacity of local community group Ka Honua Momona and restore estuarine habitat in two fishponds on Molokai, a very under-resourced Hawaiian island.
Cozumel, Mexico: We are launching a three-year project to improve coral health in Parque Nacional Arrecifes de Cozumel by assessing wastewater infrastructure with water quality monitoring, developing governance for treatment facilities, and expanding patrol programs and reducing illegal fishing.
Roatan, Honduras: CORAL aims to establish a new marine protected area within the Roatan region of the Western Caribbean by implementing a no-take zone (no fishing).
Bay Islands, Honduras: CORAL will conduct fisheries research and implement management strategies for important coral reefs species - the spiny lobster and queen conch - two of the of the most endangered benthic species that live in the reef.
